Wealth Building:
Through coordinated efforts of several partners, generational wealth building opportunities are realized in our BELOVED COMMUNITY, beginning with financial stabilization, including non-extractive leading and ending with home and/or small business ownership.
Education for Liberation
Efforts focus on The Set’s community schools. Teachers, staff, parents, and students are reimagining the public education options for our youth and reclaiming our schools through family and community advocacy and engagement, teacher and staff support, student-centered visioning, design facilitation, and resource development. Reclaim Our Village
at Village Academy is bringing the “community” back into “community schools.” Affiliate Partner Sunflower Creative Arts is bringing PLAY, NATURE and the ARTS into our early childhood classrooms.
Wellness in The Set
Supports the commonhealth and commonwealth of our neighbors. Commonhealth refers to weekly wellness circles that includes training to allow our community to own its own wellness. Commonwealth is the redistribution of capital by sharing wealth in the form of Wellness Dividends. Currently this project is being piloted with Village Academy parents, teachers, and staff and lead by Affiliate Partner, Soil + Soul. After receiving up to 12 months of wellness dividends participants may choose to continue their wealth building journey with financial stabilization services, credit repair, and matched savings with Affiliate Partners Pathways to Prosperity and Credit Union 1.

Peach Umbrella Network
Identifies, promotes, grows, and invests in the Black-owned small business community in our BELOVED COMMUNITY. The aim is to build a cooperative and collective economy in The Set. Goods and services of Peach Umbrella Network can be found at Blackmer’s Market, a quarterly open air market showcasing the locally owned Black businesses serving The Set. Affiliate Partner VP Creative Consulting manages the Peach Umbrella Network activities and additional small business development partners.
We Are Home
Builds affordable homes on the properties of legacy families in The Set. Repair + Restore protects The Set’s elders and families from losing or selling their properties due to economic pressures and/or lack of access to resources for needed structural improvements and repairs by providing resources and rehabilitation support. Together, efforts support affordable and attainable housing and allow residents of this BELOVED COMMUNITY to resist complete displacement and gentrification. Affiliate Partner, Delray Beach Community Development Corporation is leading the way on this innovative affordable and attainable housing work.
